Mildly Elvish doodle

I actually had a little time today to doodle whilst on holiday traveling around California and seeing friends. An hour or so in a hipster East Bay cafe saw this pop out. Again with the entirely unimaginative pose - I really need to break out of doing the same thing.

Fur Coat

This doodle was inspired by a japanese fashion article I came across last week on flipboard. Great hair and face. The coat I added to the mix to reflect the puffy chaos of her hair, and the tee design is a little cutesy afterthought. I kept it greyscale as I was enjoying the graphic nature of the process and working just with value.

Portrait doodle

A quickie I did the other night. It's nice to try keeping it a simple drawing at times instead of pursuing the need to add colour and polish.

Native American

Doodle inspired after watching The Lone Ranger last week. Amazing looking guy in that film.

Monster sculpt

I forgot I hadn't posted this here, so here it be.

Odd alien monster sculpt noodled with recently. I may revisit at some point - the paddle paw things on his back look somewhat daft.

Zbrush doodle I've been knocking around.

Train Doodle

Haven't posted anything since finishing the doodle a day year long project, mostly as I've been so entrenched in my latest film project at work, Jupiter Ascending. I'll post the few bits and bobs I have actually done in the near future, starting with this doodle done on the train home back in january.

Toodles.

Day 365 - The Last Day

Well, today marks day 365, the last day of this challenge I set myself 1 year ago. It's been a journey for sure. I hope I've improved over the duration, and I feel I've done some learning along the way. Now I can focus on enjoying the process a little more - technically, but moreso the idea generation itself. Part of where I feel this project hasn't been successful is the lack of interesting ideas throughout. As I've said, technically I've learned various bits and bobs, but this next year I can take my foot off the gas and enjoy delving into more interesting ideas. Hopefully.

Thanks to all those who have supported me throughout, and watch this space for more development in 2014.

Steve

Day 364 - Ink Portrait

Vanilla.

Day 363 - Kitty

Anthropomorphized kitty creature sketch in Zbrush. The usual boring caveat of more time needed to make it look decent, but it was fun to do.

Day 360 - Walker

Zbrush doodle which needs a whole lot more time to get it somewhere decent.

Day 359 - Shorts

Those would be christmas shorts.

Day 358 - Quiff

Not very Christmas Eve-y, I know. Maybe Santa's helpers look like this?

No. Probably not.

Day 357 - All Dressed Up

And nowhere to go.
